The restoration of Fraret mill was done in various stages: first the Consell de Mallorca restored the tower, the central staircase and put the aerials. Later, local government was responsible for the façades restoration in a first phase, and the interior restoration and the adequacy of the square and surrounding streets in a second phase. At all times it was tried to use traditional materials similar to originals, like “marès” and lime mortars, as much in stone wall joints as in interior and exterior finishes. Inside the mill, bathrooms were set up and outside it was added a lift to guarantee the accessibility to upstairs. This was covered with corten steel, thinking that it would be the best appearance to an element which has the willingness to respect and contemporaneity. At present the mill contains the ethnological section of History Museum of Manacor and the headquarters of Tramuntana neighbourhood association. Regarding to square and streets vehicular traffic was reduced, increasing pedestrian zone considerably, a playground was added, autochthonous trees were sowed and the base of the mill and the tower were provided with exterior illumination.
